Anchor Run CSA is seeking individuals to join its team of growers for the 2019 season.

Anchor Run CSA is a diversified Certified Organic farm in its 15th season of growing vegetables, berries, herbs, fruits, and flowers for its farm members. Our farm is located in Wrightstown Township, Bucks County, PA. We manage 25 acres and serve 250 community members weekly during a 26-week Main Season CSA and also have a 16-week Late Fall and Winter CSA with approximately 75-100 members picking up weekly.

Crew Leader

Position Summary:

We are looking for a reliable, self-motivated individual with some farming experience to lead a small crew of new farmers in accomplishing the day-to-day tasks on a diversified produce farm. The Crew Leader will communicate directly with the farm owner about the daily workload, help the team learn the methods used at Anchor Run, and accomplish work in an efficient and quality manner. The Crew Leader will be involved in all aspects of production with the exception of tractor work. The Crew Leader should expect to work 40-45 hours weekly, Monday-Friday, mid-March to November, with the potential for part-time (10-20hrs/week) work during the winter months (which could begin in fall 2018). Compensation starts at $12/hr but is commensurate with experience and can be negotiated accordingly. The Crew Leader will receive a Full Share of produce for the entire length of the harvest season (40-42 weeks). On site housing is available for this position.

Full Season (April-November) Apprentice Farmer (1-2 positions)

Position Summary:

We are looking for reliable, self-motivated individuals who are used to active, physical work and have an interest in learning about sustainable agriculture. Apprentice Farmers will be involved in all aspects of the farm including seeding plug trays, transplanting, cultivating using wheel and stirrup hoes, hand weeding, harvesting, leading groups of CSA members in field work, as well as maintaining grounds and infrastructure on the farm. Apprentice Farmers will be involved in all aspects of production with the exception of tractor work. The full season Apprentice Farmer should expect to work 40-45 hours weekly, Monday-Friday, April to November. Compensation starts at $10/hr but is commensurate with experience and can be negotiated accordingly. Apprentice Farmers will receive a Full Share of produce for the length of the main harvest season (26 weeks). On site housing is available for this position.

Full-/Part-time Summer Apprentice Farmer
Position Summary:
We are looking for a reliable, self-motivated individual interested in learning about sustainable agriculture through the months of May-August. The Summer Apprentice Farmer will work with the crew leader and full season apprentice farmers and will experience many different aspects of the farm including seeding plug trays, transplanting, cultivating using wheel and stirrup hoes, hand weeding, harvesting, leading groups of CSA members in field work, as well as maintaining grounds and infrastructure on the farm. Summer Apprentice Farmers will be involved in all aspects of production with the exception of tractor work. This is an excellent position for a college student studying environmental science, agriculture, horticulture etc. The Summer Apprentice Farmer should expect to work 20-40 hours weekly, Monday-Friday, May to August. Compensation starts at $9/hr but is commensurate with experience and can be negotiated accordingly. Summer Apprentice Farmers will receive a share of produce for the length of their employment during the main harvest season. On site housing is available for this position.
